Hi
I just got a 1986 Patrol SWB 2.6L petrol and I'm a little confused about which type of fuel I should use.
In the owners-manual it says oktan 90-94 , but it doesn't tell anythink about leaded/unleaded.
I called a Mitsubishi dealer and they told me to use leaded to be safe.

Is there any method I could use to determine, if my engine could run unleaded ?

Kind regards
Flemming Mortensen

the only thing thing different is that the lead's taken out to burn cleaner. if you can get unleaded and its cheaper + the dealer gave the OK go for it

Hi
Thats exactly my problem. The dealer told me to use leaded "to be safe".
Well I'm inclined to use unleaded to avoid as much pollution as possible.

What I need is a more secure way to determine if my engine can run unleaded or not.

I'll try to contact previous owner. He should know.

kind regards
Flemming
