:( Hi Everyone
PLEASE HELP!
I have a 95 jap import pajero2.8 td thats sick and dying
At first it would start then cut out several times before it warmed up then it ran perfectly all day,I had the glow plugs changed.
This problem continued but then started to have problems restarting after the car had been left parked for more than an hour, I was told it was the diesel filter,so I had that changed, The problem still continued,I was then told it was the manual fuel pump (the one on the right behind the battery with the bell top) and so I had that completely changed including the filter again.
This problem continued but the more the car was driven the worse it seemed to be,
now it won't start at all,it turns over and pumps out loads of bluey/white smoke.
Not sure what to do now,I need to get it fixed but I seem to be throwing money down the drain anyone got any ideas or know a good mechanic in london that won't rip me off.
Thanks Jill

[COLOR=blue]hello jill sorry to hear about your bad luck with your truck,at a guess it sounds as though there is air in the system no doubt its been bled but perhaps its sucking air from somewhere?.It might be worth trying a container with deisel in and running it straight to the pump supply this will rule out fuel lines and tank breathers etc if the fault still remains the pump itself is also an area thats causing problems with the 2.8TD someone up there must no a good deisel specialist . good luck.!

If it checks out to be the pump Jill it can be costly,i had mine rebuilt at the sum of £642 including removing from the vehicle and that was by a freinds garage, not much good to you, because we are in Cornwall sorry! its an expensive repair but you cant get far without it and only a Specialist can do it choose wisely regards Kev.

Look for a diesel engine specialist rather than just a garage. If you have a helpful garage ask them for advice where they would send it to as they generally wouldn't do it themselves.
