QUOTE(Perry @ Nov 23 2007, 12:39 AM) sounds like your heater core is leaking, because the coolent runs through the heater core under your dash . No, I think the above is wrong. Its highly likely that your AC drain is blocked - common problem on the Endeavor (happened on mine), and a pain to fix too because as you say its not very accessible from outside. The dealer will fix it, but it is not a cheap fix. Have a quick search on this forum if you want to know more - there are similar threads.

If you have a moonroof, it is possibly leaking down the channels to the pillar post and under the console and into your carpet. There may also be a windshield leak that is hard to detect. AND... a leak where the Luggage Rails are connected atop the vehicle and it slowly drains into the channel to the pillar post and then under your dash console. You can hear it running down the channel in the rain. ALL THE ABOVE saturates into the fire wall insulation under your carpet, until it becomes a slushy 'wetlands' in your vehicle emitting musty odors and mold growths of all various types. How do I know??? I have a 2006 Endeavor, purchased Brand New 11/06. Kept getting wind noise with the moon roof, so they replaced the seal. It leaked afterwards, they fixed again, got a flood next time...In short all the above have been connected to the leaks in my beautiful new SUV. I've owned it for 16 months now and it has spent 6 major lengths of time at the Dealership here in Melbourne Florida since February of 08'.
Mechanically it is sound, the best riding car I've ever owned. Smooth ride, sure footed handling, a breeze to drive in the mountains of NC. No hesitation whatsoever. The seating is very comfortable. Ample storage room and lots of interior space for stretching out your legs!
As of this date, the car is being re-fitted with brand new carpet, insulation and replacement of seat backs, consoles, door panels and armrests, plus replacement of the guardrails (all the above) were collaterally damaged by one inept mechanic.
The Dealership and Mitsubishi Corp have been very concerned about resolving this...but not before... we got someone to 'pay attention' by sending in the Lemon Law paperwork.
If you have ongoing trouble with your vehicle, don't wait much after the 3rd repair attempt to report it to the Dealer. You give notice to a problem by proceeding to file the Lemon Law paperwork that is in the papers that they give you when you purchase your vehicle. By waiting until 5th or 6th repair attempt like I did, will delay any process that needs to be addressed ASAP. Beleive me, they paid QUICK attention to my vehicles problem once notice was sent. After a thorough inspection and our concerns addressed. We have come to an agreement that the leak has most likely been repaired, all the interior damaged parts are being replaced and if a leak happens once more, it will be immediately brought back in and 'bought back' by the Dealer. We look back and say...we should have filed sooner, we have been without this vehicle for 32 days since Feb. :sunce:
