 Remote Key Problem, not working

hi im new to the site and have a 2004 carisma 1.9 td.

i have a problem with my remote key fob.

i changed the battery in the fob because i fort that the battery was dead as it was not working and also no little light lighting up but after fitting a new battery it is still the same no little light on the fob and also not opening my doors.

i have tryed the reprograming instructions ( hold down for 10 secs ect) but nothing happens and still no little light on the fob.

its driving me mad now so any help would be apreciated.

If you go to your nearest dealer, they should recode it for you free of charge...only takes a few seconds to do, so would be very surprised if they charge you
