I KNOW there is a thread for horn issues, but I wanted to start this one because I think it might be unique.

If anyone has any advice, I'd love to hear it.

The other morning at 7AM I woke up to the sound of my car horn blaring on its own. While I was getting my tools and ready to disconnect the battery cable my wife goes out there and fiddles with the horn part on the steering wheel itself and shuts off the horn.

There was an incredible smell coming from the hood, probably the smell of burnt horn.

Anyhow, I looked under the hood and found the fuse box. Low and behold I found a horn fuse; as well a small black box looking thing that I suspect is the relay?

Anyhow, I took the fuse out, then I proceeded to jiggle the horn on the steering wheel pretending like I knew what I was doing. As soon as I attempted to put the fuse back in, the horn sounded and did not stop. Once I take out the fuse it stops. When I put it in, as soon as contact is made, it starts again.

Here's the funny part. Later that night I drove to a remote location so as not to disturb anyone. I placed the fuse back in, fully expecting the horn to sound, but it did not. I placed the fuse in, went and jiggled on the horn on the steering wheel and nothing. I took the relay (black box) out, placed it back in, jiggled the horn on the steering wheel and nothing. So now, even when everything is in place, the horn will not sound.

My brother had the idea that maybe there is a SECOND fuse underneath the dash board that went out. I checked the fuses under the dashboard and did not find any horn fuses.

Any thoughts? Besides I'm an ****?

What do you think it could most be?

The horn fuse is not under the dash, you have to open your driver side door and is on the side of the dash, just pull it,your horn might be to gone(dead),and the black thingy you found under your hood is the horn relay,I had a similar issue, what i did was 1,Check fuse,It was good 2.Check relay,it was good,3.find out my horn was not working(dead),went to pepboy and got one of those replacment horn(look almost the same same stock),came back home to replace horn,Bingo it works,But it will not stop honking,so i pull the fuse out(the one on the drive side, next to the door),Did some research,Need to replace air bag to fix,So i went on ebay and found(Won) one(New) for $20 shipped,I got lucky,Install it 2 days ago,and everythings working now,Hope this info helps,Good luck.
