the hand (coin) operated carwash i go to has this engine/tire cleaner option. It puts low pressure through the nozzles and uses some sort of solution (it actually smells pretty good hehe) for like grease and stains and such. So I just spray that, let it sit for a couple minutes and then rinse it down with the nozzle on high pressure (just keep the nozzle a bit further from the engine)... works like a charm.

Sounds good man. I might have to give one of those a shot in the spring. Is there anything to clean out the wheel wells too?

It's basically the same solution. It's soapy and citrusy. It works really well on the rims and tires, takes all of the nasty stuff off.

you can clean the engine and bay at your house, with a hose and a nozzle with different settings.
- It is recommended you do it with the engine cold, to prevent any damages items that may crack from heat to cold.
- I used to use an spray engine cleaner on my mustang, spray the engine and bay, let it sit for a few minutes
- rise off the engine and bay
- dry the engine and bay as much as you can, you dont want to have sitting water in there.
- after it is dried out, you can spray some engine dress up stuff... the problem i have with that is, it will collect more dirt and dust, since it is silicone base.

as for the wheel wells, i just take the car to one of those do it yourself car wash that have pressure washers... gets rid of all that junk in the wheel wells.

I hope this helps..
