I've looked around for ages for some clear taillights for my 1988 MF Triton (Mighty Max/L200), which is basically the same car from 1987-1996 (ME-MJ) with no luck. I can find the stock assembly as well as the stock lense replacements (ie. amber, red and clear lense) but would like clear lenses to change the look of my rear end (the car's Laughing ). Anyone come across some clear lenses that will fit ME-MJ Triton/Mighty Max/L200. I believe the Dodge Ram 50 had the same tail lights. I've only found one instance of a car with these on the internet, and he said they were like finding a needle in a haystack. How right he was! Anyone know of any companies that make these?

Yep, have a look at ozeparts.com.au and follow your nose. $190ish for MK ones. Not sure if they fit MF though.

Nope, MK was the new model, the tail lights won't fit as they are a different shape. The top is curved whereas the ME-MJ are pretty much rectangular when you look at them from directly behind.

I did finally find some on eBay Australia but are from Thailand and look pretty cheapo. After seeing a Hilux and a Ford Courier (I think) they looked like the same tail lights as the Triton. I know the wiring would be different, but I have no problems with chopping up a new set of lights so they'll plug into my Mitsu.

Anyone know if Hilux from late 80's early 90s are about the same size as the Triton. When driving behind one the other day, I thought, "those tail lights look the same as mine" so on eBay and some eBay stores use the same pics for Triton and Hilux tail lights. Don't know if I can post links to auction/classifieds, as I got threads deleted on other forums, but copy/paste these into the search box on eBay Australia

Triton clear lenses I am interested in: 350009591504 (IMG:http://i7.ebayimg.com/02/i/000/bf/c7/8702_1.JPG)
And a set for a Hilux on the same store: 350009589783
(IMG:http://i13.ebayimg.com/03/i/000/bf/c5/0be0_12.JPG)

Some stock Triton tail lights: 350008424545
(IMG:http://i24.ebayimg.com/07/i/000/80/a3/677c_1.JPG)
and some Hilux ones on same store: 350010423905
(IMG:http://i7.ebayimg.com/02/i/000/b5/86/8acf_1.JPG)

See how they use he same pics for Triton and Hilux? I will ask the seller if they're the same item for both Hilux and Triton
