hmmm well ive got the CJ Lancer price/spec sheet and for a VRX 2l Auto the retail price is $31,490, Dealer Delivery is $1,495, Stamp Duty is $1,256, Reg 12 Months $600 Total on road comes to $31,841 then getting metallic paint for the blue and sun n sound package for $2,350 total of $37,191 so it looks like it is the onroad retail price or what ever for one of thee cars, i asked him if different dealerships would have different prices in South Aus and he said nah they all start off wit retail price and what ever u add is extra and i've been to another dealership and he said itd cost around the same so.....what should i do? just accept that these cars are quite expensive in aus? or what?

mate you have to learn to haggle, they are all just giving you retail price, no discounts no extras..you need to think about what extras you want, EG, mats, front tinted windows etc and say, this is what im after, a VRX with such and such extras and this is what im willing to pay!! take control its hard i know, but it becomes easier..
.all dealers are the same, that being said, you might find one dealer saying NO way and another saying sure...

They will keep going back to the manager saying i dont think we can do that, they will offer you a 1000 more than you asked, you say no, then it will be 800, etc , this crap goes on for a while but well worth the effort..You can even get the point where you say, look im busy, im ready to deal, you have my number get back to me.

.feel free to play dealers off againist themselves too..But remember the dealing only starts once they know you are ready to sign the dotted line...so you might have to make that clear, say im ready to sign today, but thats the most I willing to pay, stay firm it will work out, just dont fall for their crap like, this is a new model, mitsubishi motors says we can't discount them...just smile and play it cool.

i would expect you could get around 2500 grand off.so if you get a few extras the car would be about 37500, say 35000 on the road with the extras done deal...

hah why dont u come along and buy it for me? lol im not really the haggling type eh gonna have to get me on a bad day...but yeah, im still looking around and stuff, not looking to buy one till atleast next year (feb/march) but seems like every1 interstate gets them for like 5grand less than what the dealerships are offering here...whether thats just because i didnt **** n moan about the price or what i dunno....what to do what to do oh btw....lancers seats are friggin comfy ! :P lol my old lancer u cant sit in it for more than around 3 hours (unless ur forced to). ....compared to the lancer seats...awesome!! :P

I'm in NSW - got VR from Queanbeyan for $28,495 drive away, thats nearly an extra $10,000 for the X!

Seems alot....

BTW - you wanna find another dealership and play them off against each other, go back and forth and
get the best deal you can! Tell them what you want, dont let them tell you what you can have...

nah i dont think its illegal...just gotten used to being on the right side of the car but there are older cars that still left hand drive goin round...but yeah...if i buy a car i dont wanna have to get it imported...im guessing 2x sinec theyre made in japan? (i think they are?? are they? lol) and then get shipped from US to AUS too much work...think ill just wait for a blue ralliart or evo to come in wait a couple of months till i get to go drive with someone that owns 1 n then if its all good go buy 1 muwahaha...thats my plan

dealer delivery is a crock, its basically a very expensive car wash, its the cost for them preparing the car for you. you'll get that 1500bucks off easy.
