there are no 3-4 models where did you hear that. they only have two so far the gsr and the mr then the ralliart will come out in 09.the mr are the one that are pricy since they have all of that tech packages and whatnot.the gsr are not overpriced thse rumors of starting at 0k and all are long gone not true.

well for one i didnt say there are 3-4 models, i said there will be.. If you can count, you said MR, GSR and ralliart, in my book thats already 3 models

Now as of to the stripped out version that I was talking about, here are the official press releases:

"The trims Mitsubishi specifically announced for Japanese market were the GSR, which is the standard Evo X now, and the RS model. The stripper RS model has always been a favorite of ours, especially with the giant rear wing deleted and all those foo-foo features like a radio and power whatever tossed to save weight."

"
Sporting the S-AWC and Twin Clutch SST and other cutting-edge automotive technology as well as a more comprehensive functional and convenience equipment specification, the GSR trim level (also available with a 5-speed manual transmission) leads the new Lancer Evolution X lineup. The lineup also continues to offer the RS competition base model, with a less comprehensive and simplified equipment specification to reduce weight to a minimum.
RS is offered in two body colors, including White Solid which is exclusive to this trim level.

3. Manufacturer's recommended retail price (MMRP)
GSR* 4-cyl. 2.0-liter 16-valve DOHC MIVEC with intercooler-turbocharger 5M/T Full-time 4WD (S-AWC): 3,495,450
Twin Clutch SST: 3,750,600
RS 5M/T Full-time 4WD: 2,997,750 (2,997,750.00 JPY = $28,093.81 USD)"

Enough facts?
So yeah, its available in Japan, but hopefully will be available in US too.

350z is a model that came out in 2004... that's almost 5 years ago. There is simply no way I'd get a new car with a 5 years old styling. I like the 350z styling myself, but I think the styling of the Evo X is much more aggressive. Plus Evo X has AWD, turbo vs 350z RWD, NA.

Also if you think US pricing is high, then come to Canada it'd make you cry. :(
