I also have this problem! Is yours a GDI too?
When it's cold like it has been for the last couple of weeks, it will turn over just fine, but will not fire up.
The only way I can get it to start is by using liberal doses of Cold Start spray in the air filter.
Last year I cleaned out the throttle body due to a different issue (stalling) which also seemed to fix the starting, although it wasn't as cold by then. I'll take that out over the weekend and give it a proper clean see if that helps any.
The other thing I did last year was replace the spark plugs - didn't make any difference.
Any idea what could be the cause of this - could it be a bad battery, although it seems strong enough and will start the car with enough cold start in there, and there is no problem when it's not cold!
I know there's a temperature sensor in the air intake - could this be related?
I don't know what mechanism the carsima GDi uses to start in the cold, does it just somehow increase the fuel/air ratio? If anyone has any suggestions, I'd be glad to hear them.
cheers
