Help.....

Caught someone trying to take my radio out of the car. It was not a pretty scene when I was done. I tried 3 time, and now the unit is reading OFF. I need clear the OFF code and get a unlock code. Can someone help me with instructions on the entering. I would really appreciate the help. Here's my info.:

a dealer will have to get the code from the website. you will have to take it there unless you've been to a dealership before. they will need to see proof of ownership in most cases to get you the code

That's not true. Just call 1 800 222 0037 and they'll ask for VIN and headunits' information , ie- s/n & model #. I just called them today and got the code with 0 problems

VIN= proof of ownership. at the dealership level we are not allowed to give out the radio id number unless its an established customer or the vehicle is present (please note I don't work for a Mitsubishi dealer but that is fairly standard practices). if anyone can get the radio code it defeats the purposed of the code so there has to be some limitations to its accessability

I guess I am off to the dealer tomorrow. I just had my timing belt replaced and my valves checked. The car ran rough before but it runs nice and smooth now. It's a 2000 but I can't turn on the radio without the code. Oh well.

vin doesn't necessary mean proof of ownership. I can walk through a parking lot and get VINs. MikeV doesn't know what he is talking about, just ignore his posts. As the intelligent poster stated, callt he 800 number with the info listed and Mitsu will give you the code. I did it and it is easy. DOn't waste your time with a dealer.

Be sure to call the number above It does work just need the last eight letter of your vin number and the serial and model number from your radio.
