That's not true. Just call 1 800 222 0037 and they'll ask for VIN and headunits' information , ie- s/n & model #. I just called them today and got the code with 0 problems
VIN= proof of ownership. at the dealership level we are not allowed to give out the radio id number unless its an established customer or the vehicle is present (please note I don't work for a Mitsubishi dealer but that is fairly standard practices). if anyone can get the radio code it defeats the purposed of the code so there has to be some limitations to its accessability
