I got snow tires finally.. did it myself super cold out here in toronto.. -10 with snow blizzard comin down.. got frostbitessssssssss

anyway
my TPMS isnt GOING OFF! i dont even know if they are working properly now, because numerous people have been complaining abt the TPMS warning them of low pressure occasionally.. ive had my car for 4 months now and thats never happened. I wonder if it is because of me playin with my fuse box a few months ago when i was installing my HIDs.. and accidentally disabled it!

If that;s the case then there IS a FIX for that TPMS problem, however.. if it is malfunctioning causing mine not to warn me at all even without my stock tires then thats a problem for ME!

Anybody have any inputs on this?

my tires are Semperits snow grip 205/60R16s..
they handle awesome!!!
got them for a great deal! $660 tax in with steeliesssss!

Hmmm interesting. What did you do with your stock wheels and how many km have you driven on the snow tires?

Mine took about 30 km of driving before the TPMS finally went off. Be patient and give it some time, it WILL go off ;)

now, i am actually hoping it would go off!!!
lol
i dont want it to be broken, my stock tires are with my stock rims in my garage..

it doesnt really explain why i never ever got tire pressre warnings.. the most ive had is that annoying icy roads thingy..

i just put em on this afternoon.. we'll see ill take it for a spin...

yeah you're right, after goin on the highway for a couple of minutes, the maintenance required (tire) icon came on..

it just didnt say low pressure and i read the manual and it said if there is no TPMS or if it is not functioning properly then it won't say low pressure, itll say maintenance required.

PHEW!

thanks boys!

Ok the reason TPMS is going off is because in your stock tires, there are tire sensors INSIDE of the tire.... you need to transfer them from your stock to your winter tires, thats why i just got winter tires stright from mitsubishi, they did the whole tire sensor thing for me but of corse they charger a hell of a lot more.... if you go to your mitsuishi dealer you can see if they will move the sensers to your winter tires but they prob charger u enough

I dont think he wants his sensors on the new tires, and frankly its a waste of time. Why put extra wear and tear on your stock tires, by unmounting them, just to transfer some sensors over? Not to mention I bet they raped you on the cost of 18" winter tires too.

Yeah, took me about 30k's on the highway before mine went off.
I thought it was a friggen check engine at first because of the yellow "maintenance required" screen. Best bet is to just ignore it for a few months, keep hitting the "reset/info" button.
