1st post here. I have a 1998 Eclipse that had a slight run-in with one of those soccor-mom SUV's... Driven by a Soccor Mom who didnt know how to drive an SUV; Or any other automobile for that matter.

To make a long story short. I have to pay for the repairs. I took it to a shop and no structural dammage has been done. I have a new door ready to mount and the front fender is not a problem at all. However the rear quarter-pannel is proving to be quite a pain to find a way to fix.

Instead of going back to factory spec body. I will be installing a Body-Kit. However, I cannot find a good kit to put on that includes the rear quarter-pannel.

Anyone out there have any advice on fixing this up? Any body kits to recommend? I am looking to spend about 3000-4000 total to get it fixed up and looking good again.

Thanks.

Thanks, I will check it out. 1 Question.

When having the Side Skirts put on, is the rear quarterpannel cut? I'm thinking if I find a kit with side skirts high enough it will do away with the rear gash. The front fenders are not a problem. I'm looking at the Erebuni 271 http://www.andysautosport.com/bodykits.php...s&brand=Erebuni right now with ECLIPSE Z3 STYLE FENDERS http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...&category=36475
(Not from E-bay, but thats a good pic)

What do you think of this combo, and do you think the rear quarterpannel will loose the gash when installing the side skirts?

if i were you i would just go to a car graveyard and buy a new rear fender on the cheap, know what i mean? a body kit shouldnt take up too much of your budget, so you could still get the fender and comein under budget. as far as a body kit goes, i would go with a buddy club 2. its what i am getting. its slightly resembles stock, and it isnt real flashy or anything. check it out at www.buddyclub2.com its the kind of kit that takes a slightly trained eye to notice its not stock. real sleeper like!

I was under the impression that the 96-99 eclipse rear fender was part of the frame. At least it seems that way when I am looking at it. Would reuire me to weld in the entire rear quarter. Would be easier to pund it out, bondo out the gash, and throw a side skirt that reaches up to where the gash was to cover it up... Or am I looking at it the wrong way?

PLEASE don't put a Blitz body-kit on your GS-T, I beg of you!! You'll just look like another 2f2f ricer, fanboy. That's the last thing we need after a damn 2G dsm was featured in 2f2f.

Does anyone know of any good websites that describe how these body kits are installed? I'm still wondering if a high side skirt will fix this problem. And am by no means a body work expert, or even seen any body work done. I have the new door and fenders put on. But am reluctant to body kit it just yet untill I know the process that they are put on. II'm just not sure if it will achieve what I need yet.

what about the nx wide body kit? that has a rear fender component. although im brand new to the forum and the "club" a wide body kit was the first thing i started to look for.
http://www.aitracing.com/index.php?main_page=NX_ECLIPSE
i would suggest making sure there is no safety related structural damage as well though.

The damage doesn't look too bad barring not being able to see the door frame. That being said If you know how to weld or if you know someone who can you can cut out the affected section and go to a graveyard get the same section out of that car. Then tack weld the new piece in make sure it matches and then finish the weld.
