My endeavor key will open the driver door on first try and all four doors on the second try at unlocking, but will not open the rear hatch or rear window. If I unplug the connector at the upper rear hatch and plug back in it will unlock the hatch or hatch window. Need help in fixing the hatch to open with key in drivers door.

My stopped working as well. I think it might be a blown fuse as the hatch opens by electronic release.

Anyone have any idea why it would just stop working?

you both probably have a failed WINDOW handle switch.
first, you can manually open the hatch using the small "trap door" inside the car on the hatch (the lovely owners manual should tell you this).

but try unplugging the glass handle. Ill bet that the main hatch handle starts working fine.

Man you rock!!!. That worked, but now my question is, what if I ever want to open the glass again?

FYI
- To do this, first release the hatch manually by removing the access cover located in the middle of the hatch.

- Then locate the windshield washer motor cover in the center of the hatch. Directly opposite the glass release handle on the inside plastic panel of the hatch.

- There should be two screws on either side, remove them

- Then carefully pry the small plastic cover off. This should give you enough room to insert a small needle nose plyers

- There will be two white plastic plugs on the right hand side, you want the smaller of the two.

- Take your needle nose and carefully seperate the male end of the plug from the female end. ( the male end was theleft side of the plug for me. )

And that is it, you can test the main hatch release by lifting the handle and you should hear the electronic release working.

Thanks again to manybrews!!!

Really :P

No seriouslly how would I open the glass to replace the handle. The glass will not open at all and I do not see a manual realease like there is for the main hatch. Any suggestions?

the manual release that you used to open the hatch (inside the car) also has a release for the glass.
