The Outlander Dakar edition is a diesel powered vehicle. It's a modified production vehicle fitted with aero parts, carrier box, roll cage, and other modifications to allow it to withstand the grueling challenge of the desert. The powertrain itself was not modified, so durability of the engine will somehow reflect actual reliability of the Outlanders sold to the public [UK and EU].

That photo of the Outlander is awesome, I especially like the look of the BFGoodrich All-Terrain Tires on it. Do you happen to know if that particular Outlander has a lift kit on it? To it doesn't look like it, but I thought I'd ask the question. I do see that it has a suspension vendor name called out on the graphics. I wonder if the aftermarket suspecsion doesn't add a little bit of height to the vehicle.

I would love to outfit mine the same way!
