yeah, i'm from toronto. just got my blue GTS on friday!

hey, while i'm here was wondering, anyone know of a good tinting place in or around the GTA that they would recommend. i've been reading all these horror stories about people tinting and it getting very scratched. i know i have to get the moleskin, i was just wondering if anyone had a really good experience at a certain shop and would recommend. thanks.

picked up my electric blue SE last thursday (first one to do so from my dealership ^_^) and I love it! Everything is great, and it drives like a charm. I'm home for the holidays and I'm the envy of all my family and friends hehe it doesn't get much better than this.

but yeah, i'm from the markham area! wuttupppp!

Hey Guys,

We are in the GTA as well. I say "we" because my wife is learning the car game with this car.

We just picked ours up on Friday May 2 and I'm trying to do my best to not go crazy and start modding already!!

Note To Admins: This forum is not helping to curb that bug!! :laughing:

Glad to be a part of the Lancer family and hopefully as the weather gets better we can actually have a meet.

Hey guys im in the GTA and was SERIOUSLY looking to get a Lancer GT as my first "new" car... right now i cant think of anything else even with hearing stories about the paint...

was wondering what you guys paid for your Lancers in Toronto....

I only have gone to the Eglington one and the guy gave me a quote of 29k after taxes for the GT cvt... eventually he went down to 28,6k... but i still thought it was kinda high... wasnt sure so i said i'd think about it and went straight to look it up on the net...

called Pickering over the phone and he said GT cvt would be around aprrox. 27k after tax... but thats over the phone... prolly just saying that to get me in the door

whatd you guys think?
also did you guys go for any rust proofing of any kind?

My 08 SE was 26k after rust proofing, tinted windows, paint coating, etc. But this was back in december, when lancers were flying off the lot. I imagine they could be a bit cheaper nowadays.

I live in teh markham area and I'm seeing alot of 08 lancers now hehe

how much was the paint coating... i would imagine that helps prevent the paint chipping issue people have been having....

any issues with the tint scratching?

the paint coating was...100 bucks or so I believe? maybe 200. But I have still noticed some tiny chips on the hood of my car.. not alot mind you. But I drive on backroads to get to work and I run into alot of gravel trucks and so on...cringe all the time when I'm behind one of those.

And I haven't had any issues with my factory tint. The dealer guy told me not to roll down the windows for a couple days when i first got my car, cause the tint was only a couple hours old. But I always roll my windows down and there hasn't been any marks yet.
