To the board, and Andy Z. I did get it to release. I rotated the flywheel 90 to 180 degree's to get a fresh starting point. I used a pry bar to re-seat the throwout bearing up against the presure plate. This time I noticed that it moved almost flush to the presure plate. Then, while applying presure to the T/O bearing using the release fork moving it away from the motor, I inserted a screwdriver between the T/O bearing and the spring loaded tin looking o-ring and twisted the screwdriver and it popped off.
Andy....send me your email address if you need anything else.
