I'm sorry to say the least, but despite it being such a great car with great interior features... I can't help but think it's lacking in power... I'm wondering what the trade in value of this car will be if I take it to a used dealership b/c I'm thinking of trading it in for a used g35. And before everyone starts dissing me and stuff, try to understand I just want some help and not here to diss MY OWN CAR.
It is a white gts with sun and sound package & 7000km on it. A used g35 is around $20k before tax so I'm wondering if trading it in is enough to get the g
On a side note, I really really like the looks and features on the car, it handles well and have lots of space for passengers and in the trunk but 152hp doesn't cut it for me. I know all sorts of mods are in the works, including turbo which will boost it to 300+ hp but I lack the technical knowledge in modding cars to mod the lancer :(
If anyone can provide me with the trade in value I will really appreciate it, thanks in advance

I would guess 14k-15k if you have a manual 15-16k if you have cvt
Value of a car drops 2-3k the second you drive it of the lot -> and trade in value at a used car dealer lot will not get you much...if they can resell the car for 18k they won't give you more than 16k
I suggest selling the car yourself - you will make much more $$$
You will be taking a huge loss selling the car so soon - I suggest waiting at least 2yrs, unless you have plenty of money to throw around, also remember you have a great warranty on your Lancer...you will be lucky to get a 1 or 2 yr warranty on a used car, it's usually 3month - then whatever is left on the manufacturers warranty

well at the moment I really liked the car and it fits all my needs for university (cargo space/trunk/warranty/gas mileage etc), also the horsepower seem enough back then because I just learned manual and the lancer felt fast for a beginner you know? Now that I've been driving it for half a year I want more hp =(
but bad news is I went to used car dealership today and the car there say he can offer me 17k for the car + taxes so he's giving me 19k for it, then I have to add another 4k to pay for the G35 ($21k+ tax is around 24k)... I was hoping for an even swap but I know that is impossible. Still, I think I will keep the lancer because honestly I like it, but it's just not worth the trouble for more horsepower and besides the lancer suits me more than the gas-eating g35.
Thanks for everyone's help, I think I will make a big mistake if I did trade it in, now all I can hope for is some mods that will boost the car's power a bit more.

install a bolt on exhaust upgrade for just 1 day and i am sure you would change your mind. especially if you have a CVT. Alot of power is being held back by the restrictive Stock muffler. Better yet, you live in Toronto? I will let you drive my EVOSOUL 08 GTS project car, and I am sure you will change your mind. Coffee's on me.

I agree. Just add the Greddy exhaust and either the Fujita SRI or the Injen CAI, and you'll be happy. I have the Greddy, and it really helps with deceleration. Especially if you down shift with the CVT, your car won't feel like its gonna break down. Down-shifting isn't harsh anymore. I also have the Fujita and that $hit really opens up the engine. Not only do these upgrades help the overall performance and low-end power of the car. They make the car very fluent and smooth.
