So my coworker came into work a few days ago bragging about his new car. He claimed that it was an "Eclipse set up for street racing." Oh geez, I thought to myself. This should be good. He goes on for a bit about how its got turbo and the loud exhaust and the painted decals on the side. He gets done with his little speech, and ask one simple question, the answer to which will tell me weather or not it is really a "Street-racing" eclipse: "What year is it?" 2003 he replied, and an automatic 03 at that. I couldnt contain my grin. I thought it was amusing, but at the time I coundnt do anything about it because was still driving the 92 Talon N/T.

Fast forward to the day after I buy my 1G GSX, I suggest to said employee that next time we both close, we should have a little race. He seemed all for it at the time.

Fast forward again to last night, the first night since I got my GSX that we both closed. I mention to him that we should see who has the real street-racing machine. He responds by telling me he'll have to see how he feels. Closing time comes, and were walking out to our vehicles, and he tells me he has things he has to do that night. Bugger :[ Guess Ill hafta wait. in the meantime, I can always bench-race. Which car do you guys think would have won? As far as mods go, for all practical purposes my car is stock (more or less  ) and his is the 4cyl with a turbo kit, yellow brake calipers, exhaust and thats about the only mods I could see. No front mount inercooler. So, who would win???

For all that I know that he might/can be B.Sing. painted decal ??? paint brake calipers, and a fart can......... He can be stock for all I care. But went he took off is his exhuast/ muffler a deep or loud sounding ???

For your case do the free mods and you will gain about 5psi more, meaning more power even with out the free mods you will surely get him off the line.

Oh his exhaust was loud alright, but it certainly wasnt deep. Other than that, i got nothin. He hasnt let me look under the hood, so I dunno what hes packing.

On a separate note, i was damp last night; as if i needed another reason to race him then and there. even if, and thats a bif if, he had a turbo, the slick road would not have agreed with his FWD. Dangit...

Then I don't think he has a turbo under the hood. If he did the exhaust should be deep because the turbo will take most or all the sound.

or just race him. wrag on him until he races. be the apollo in rocky (except win) just make fun of him in front of everyone until he races. a mans pride can only take so many hits before he defends it.

So this is related to a 3g and a gsx...

I got a race lined up tomo with a guy that has a 3g gt. I was talking to some of my friends about it and they believe he will beat me off the start. Im thinking AWD v FWD, i will get a better launch. Whats the word?

so, a 3g GT has 205 HP, your at least 210. your AWD will get you the launch, your also lighter and once you hit boost, i think you'll be gone. you should take him off the line especially if he's running stock tires.

even if your tires are stock, you'll out launch him for sure. and your mid range you hit boost, so where is he ever supposed to catch you? he isn't and won't. take him down man.

Well that was fun. We couldn't find a dec place to do it from a stop so we hit up a small highway near by and did a 35 roll. We stayed neck and neck till about 75-80 he pulled about a half car length ahead and then we hit traffic :/

I have to get new plugs and wires cuz i know for sure im not getting a good spark, so im pretty sure ill be able to take him again

yeah, you can try them, but i actually got NGK plugs. i'm really happy with them too. but i'm running iridium or what ever plugs in my 3000 and no complaints about those either, but NGK is all around better from what i hear.
