When moving slowly over speed bumps or reversing over bumps I can here a "cracking type " noise form underneath rear seat. When driving on the open road there is no noise from the rear. |The car has covered 118000 mls. Model is a 2004 DiD diesel
Any clues would be very helpful.

Hi Jim,
Have a look at the rear seat backrest anchor points.
Mine were worn and when going slowly in and out of the garage or over bumps the seat back moved around making a similar noise to that which you described.
