Honestly... I think the RSX-S is just a freakin glorified Civic Si =\

But I'm actually not surprised that he beat a RSX.. if it was normal,
but I still think a RSX-S is impossible for our cars cause I raced my neighbor and he's owned me enough to make me go bankrupt if we were betting on drinks.

RSX-S can go 0-60mph in 6.8 secs (I've seen 6.1-7.2 though).

Our Lancers cant really go any faster than the 8 seconds on average.

Quarter Miles times for the RSXS is around 13-14secs @ 105ish mph

While the Lancer gets around 16.8 secs @ ... 83.8
(This came from Edmunds and manuals gets slightly lower times I've seen ~15.9 secs @ 88-92mph reported from other places)

Do some researching yourself, google is your best friend at this.

So I really don't think our Lancers can beat an RSX S without any mods in particular.

I had some fun with a Sentra R and a Impala LT the other day. Was driving home alone from visiting the gf (3 hour drive). Got passed by the sentra and then the impala. I would have let the sentra go, but the impala was too much.

Ended up playing leap frog at ~190km/h for 20-30 minutes.

A friend of mine is driving a 2004 Acura TL (3.2L V6/270hp/233tq/automatic). We went out on a back road without anyone around and had some fun. I kept on his side until 180 then the V6 reared its ugly head and he started taking off. The only reason I could keep up was he had the Auto Trans, but it was still surprising I kept up.

I've seen people say they've got 7.0/7.5 seconds 0-60 with the 2.0L/08 Lancers. I'm guessing the 2.4L should come at around 6.8-7.2 depending on the driver, which puts it close to the Civic Si.

190km/h??? Man that is sweet if you got caught at that speed here in Australia you would probably serv some time in jail, reckless driving maybe???

It would be a $500+ ticket, and a charge of reckless driving. That is why I hung back. Once I had a bit of fun, I backed off and let the other car(s) keep the lead. That way if a cop was clocking people, they'd get nailed and I could slow down and get away with it.

Always nice to have someone playing b**** for you. I had a guy in an s2000 who was doing 25 over the speed limit a while back so I kept up with him. he got **** I was following him (I was 150 ft back) so he took off on a straight stretch on a small hill. Coming over the hill was a cop, clocked him doing over 180km/h in a 80km/h zone. Cop pulls a u turn behind me, passes me lights and sirens (I was doing 160km/h when I saw the cop, slowed down to 110 right off) and pulls the s2000 over a km or so ahead of me. :)

EDIT: (I think it would be close to 1000$ since its 80km/h over the limit)

I dont know about this whole civic thing i have raced alot of civics and rsx usually to around 140 Kph mark and won most of them. The honda engine just doesn't have the same get up and go as the lancers most likely because of its torque disadvantage but this is just my opinion. Once you replace the intake and exhaust on the lancer the car breaths much better and i think is a definite contender with the rsx. But in this case the rsx must have been a base model if you had 3 other people in the car and won.

And just to compare the civic engine to the lancer's heres an equation used to compare efficiency of an engine

Lancer : 793000 * 152 / 122 * 6000

164.666

Civic :793000 * 198 / 122 * 8000

160.875

I am not quite sure that I follow you on the last part....but the 198...I would assume that is the SI's HP, but the TQ is rated at 139 for the SI.
When that VTEC kicks in....that car goes & screams.
My Lancer kinda sounds like a diesel LOL!
Plus the lancers have more TQ than the 122 you have listed....that's the part where I am lost about what your talking about, the 2nd numbers.

Sorry i posted b4 i could finish that equation torque isn't a part of the equation
Its the Brake Mean Effective Pressure is for comparing engines and the equation
is: BMEP = [793000 * P] / [V * F]
Where P is Horsepower , V is Volume in cubic inches , F is the frequency that peak power is found (RPM)

And for me with exhaust and intake the mivec kicks me in the **** way more that i feel with vtec.vtec seems to kick in way to late in the rpm range.

Totally agree. Acura is owned by Honda.... it really is a Civic with a different body.

Dude if you're gonna race don't be a ****.... go to a track. Check out the post on the off topic and you'll see what happens when people like you do that ****. People get hurt or killed.

To further up my last post, really, our cars can own any sports compact by Honda/Acura as long as it's base and the driver is competent.

Been there and done that, but the Civic Si and RSX-S are out of our league without modifications to the drivetrain. But I'm not sure about the 2009 GTS Lancers though. That extra torque can possibly pull us close or match them. Of course, I'm talking about dragging. For AutoX or Circuit racing, the Lancer has a killer handling performance for its class

@frekinwilly

I'd like this hear about this :)

How about I start a new thread on this.....

" I got my a$$ handed to me by a _________________"

I was getting off of I-80 & making a right onto LaGrange Rd (Illinois, Tinley Park area)......just as the oncoming traffic got their green.......I had my car floored & kept it there......I noticed that the Silverado got on it hard @ the light coming at me. I kept on it up to about 80 & that guy passed me up like he was going at least close to 100.
I never thought he would catch me that quickly.....man.....I miss my old TrailSnoozer. Was just funny.......I had him by like 8 cars when they got the green & he walked me down in NO TIME! Yep....got my a$$ handed to me :P
At least he will be quicker to the gas pump as well. Even beating....yep Willy...you read right  BEATING..on my car....I still got 25+mpg's
