well this is how it goes as i was driving on the highway from sac going back to merced and some how a car kept coming very fast so i thought it was a cop but as it appeared it was a rsx so i knew that he wanted to past me but he wasn't so i knew he wanted to race, so then i pop back down 6 to 5gear and floor my car so then i thought that it he was to fast for me cuz i can hear his muffler roaring from behind me and as i was flooring hard i knew that his car was falling behind mine and i just kept going until his headlight were far so i was surprized that my stock lancer beat a rsx and plus my car was pack with me my wife and bro and his wife. javascript:emoticon(':)')javascript:emoticon(':trophy:')

it might have been a standard rsx or and auto...but theres no way it was a type-s. Slightly more hp and lighter weight than the new SI's, they are fairly quick.

(slow clap begins)
so let me get this straight you were racing with your kid and wife with you? if so, I wouldnt recommend doing it again, nore driving on the highway. Everyone has their fun but if you and another guy are going to go at it, keep it safe and do it solo, cause you could end up losing more then you'd like

Commenting on comparing to a RSX, i wouldnt be surprised if you heard his engine racing if it was the base model, the problem with hondas is that they make good power but only in the top RPM ranges probably with your weight difference between you and the RSX it would be even. if he was modified he could passed you. The higher 200hp trim would have no trouble, but again it would be High RPM driving.

Yeah I agree. A couple of nights ago I saw this car that in front of me that was in the mood for serious running, or I might say CRAZY running, cause he passed other cars when the rules say u shouldnt, like in lanes that are for entering other exits or malls. ANyway, despite he did that, and I tried to dont do stuff like that, still I went hard to chase him and somehow despite the advantages he got because of the crazy unprudent moves I kept hanging at his tail. Even I saw a cop on a right lane and of course I slowed down, but he didnt seem to care and still pass another car very agressively, later I saw that the cop was attending another issue so didnt see him.

It was at night aroung 8pm so with a fairly amount of cars in a two lane highway.
I ended going even at 115mph.

In the end, I was able to mess with him been on his tail despite been more precautious . I must say that didnt like doing it cause it was kinda dangerous. I am not that crazy yet. Couldnt tell exactly what car was, but it seem like an alfa romeo or an audi, it looked like a hatchback from the back. The lancer did a very good job cause my idea was to give him a hard time, just keeping behind him, and I did.

actually, im not. The new civic si is the first civic to be heavier than and integra/rsx. The RSX type S is rated at 200hp and has a curb weight of 2778 lbs

the new civic si is rated at 197hp and has a curb weight of 2886 lbs.

both cars utilize the same engine and transmission but the civic has slightly lower output by a couple hp, nothing big. But in a head-head race with the same driver, it is likely the rsx type s will edge out the heavier civic si.

information was gathered from edmunds, car and driver and other numerous locations

:offtopic: its a close call but the 300 pounds weight advantage still wouldnt make a civic win.
The high end RSX has just a few extra meaningful points of TQ and few points of HP, and you know those honda engines love to rev high. there are other factors to consider but i think the coef. drag of the RSX is better, dont quote me but i think i did read it somewhere.

They are both hondas both the same thing really. but when it comes to betting money, i would throw my money down on the RSX.

it had to of been stock and not the type-s as said above..just cuz u heard tha exhaust means nothing..my buddy has an rsx type-s and he accidentally broke his muffler off the stock exhaust and it sounds tha same if he were running a greddy cat-back..sooo yea.. nd tha closest i can get is about 1 1/2 car links..nd i have intake and exhaust nd his is tha stock type-s...as far as a type-s vs. SI race...id bet money on the type-s any day of tha week...either way..if u gotta win its a win man congrats.

First congrats on the win!

Second, LIAR!!! :imsorry:

Man come on!!! be serious.

You have 4 people in your car. And racing an RSX??? Sorry man, I'm sure he wasn't racing you. Unless you slow down to 30 or 40. Honk 3 times, and go!! Then it's BS!

Go find someone with an RSX and say let's race, stop light to stop light, or rolling 40.

Put one of your people in his car, and then race.

A win is a win, only if it was a real race.

Yeah, hey!! I went up to this Ferrari the other day and revd my engine. I beat him to the next stop light!!! I heard his exhaust and everything!!!! NOT!!!

I'm just giving you a hard time!

What mods do you have to your car? :birthday:

so i race my car whenever i have the chance. I used to drive an 01 A4 so the lancer has **** me off in some racing situations but I still like the car.

A tc pulled up next to me the other day and The guy just started me down.
I knew this car is rated at more HP and probably lighter. He rolled back so i knew it was stick like mine.
I had just installed my crank shaft pulley and my axel back but I didnt know if it was gonna be enough.
Light turns green and I take him by 1 car in second. the rest is just him trying to catch up.

now that i read his post..i can understand if he did beat an RSX-S

a friend at my job recently got one..and stock the RSX-S only puts 145lbs/tq but about 200hp..so..if u go from a roll of say 10mp..and you have a exhaust and intake..chances are you will probaly win if its a short quick race..

similar to the TSX..210hp but only 140 tq..quite sad that ppl pay 30k for 140lbs of tq

well duh im just saying over here i dont understand why people would pay that price for a poor performing car when they can get the TL which performs 20x better for only another 3 grand

making my point that its possible he beat a RSX-s
