QUOTE(utiheadbanger @ Jul 30 2005, 03:47 PM)
My second car was a 1998 Mitsubishi Galant ES, which I loved, but I had to part with it because it had 75,000 miles and I didn't feel like dropping any more money into it.  I didn't have a warranty, so everything was out of pocket.  I have since bought a 2003 Lancer ES, which I have had for a year, and I bought it because I planned on modifying it when school was over.  Since I am in Auto School, I don't care about the warranty and all, I plan on doing all the work when I graduate anyway.  The car cost me $11,500 with 5000 miles.  I have never been happier about a car.  I just wish it a) had more stock power, B) had a better stock sound system, and c) had a bigger gas tank.  My Galant had a 17 gallon, and going to a 13 gallon sucked.

Ok, now that it's been well over a year since I've said that, let me gripe about the car.

It's SLOW. That doesn't bother me. The suspension from stock SUCKED. Fixed. Car was too quiet. Fixed. Stock 14" steel wheels were ugly. Fixed. Car is an automatic. Stopped modifying car and will get rid of when the timing is right.

i bought the red 3000 gt and drove to long island from indiana cause i got it really cheap and my wife always wanted one then found the yellow one in chicago cheap so now i have the red one and the wife has the yellow one. then got the galant cause we had a baby. so now we have 3 mitsubishis and working on more. lol reliability, styling and performance wrapped up in every car. and to top it off the simplicity of the mechanics. what other car maker can provide all that. we just need more models to choose from.

My wife had her ('99) Carisma long before I met her (I met her in 2001 when she was in NYC for summer holidays) but she bought our current one (2003 Carisma) for just one reason - she really liked the first one!

The new one is virtually identical to her first one - in fact, many of our friends and relatives didn't notice the change for several weeks. Her sister rode in it for a couple of days before suddenly noticing that "the new one" has leather seats and some fake burl trim (the old one didnt...) :)
