Yesterday i was accelerating and my engine hesitated a bit at first then accelerated fine and then the service engine soon light came on. I could feel the power loss. Ive been scouring the forms here and it sounds like it might be a problem with the wires and plugs, and that it could have been a cylinder misfire. I still am going to go get the PCM checked, but i would like to know before i go, if there is something else it could be, and where i could go to get it checked for a good price (autozone, pepboys?).

the service engine soon light is such an ambiguous indicator it "could" be anything. have it scanned at checker or autozone. they usually do it for free. if its something like multiple cylinder misfire or cylinder 1 random misfire it could be the type of gas you're using. i've rarely used top tier gas and when i ran my tank to the very bottom it sucked up all the rust and crap at the bottom. the car ran like garbage for like 2 days and threw those 2 codes. i work at a dealership so i could clear it myself. once it worked through it the light hasnt come back on and it runs fine again.

Thanks. I took it in today and it turns out that it was a cylinder misfire.
