My Montero's check engine light came on today. I checked the code and its showing a P0510 Closed Throttle Position Switch. Should I replace the switch or do they tend to get dirty and just need cleaning?

Thanks
Sam

Hi, are you sure code is correct, PO501 is vehicle speed sensor range/performance problem.

Hi,

I have 1998 Mitsubishi Diamante. Even I am facing the check engine problem "P0510 Closed Throttle Position Switch Malfunction". Can anyone suggest me whetehr I should change the switch or do some cleaning?
