I bought a Colt 1.1 today (06 reg) and it only came with one key, the one with the RCL bit on it. Does anyone know if it's possible to get a copy (just the key) made?

You'll need to get one through the dealer.

Yep only through dealer, the cars have built-in ECS ;)
so you need the key to have the correct ECS signal.

I've been round a few local key cutters and none of them have the software for this car.
Would it be acceptable to write to the previous owner to ask him to look for the spare key? He may just have it in a drawer or something. I have his name & address on the V5, but would contacting him be against some regulation or other? I'd rather try this, if possible, than go straight to the dealer to cough up at least £100 :(
