QUOTE(kraig @ Jun 13 2008, 10:49 AM)
A 1995 Mitsubishi Diamante is 0.28 Cd. I can't seem to find anything else on mitsubishi's and drag coefficients. I probably over-estimated the frontal area, as a Hummer H2 is 2.44 meters, we're probably around half that, which ups the top aerodynamic speed to around 170-180mph

If the Diamante is .28Cd then it is safe to assume that our car is within .25-.27... which is wow, Nissan GTR standards. Reason for this is when comparing to the Diamante, the frontal is smaller and more aerodynamic due to the shark nose shape, and the back is much more curved out than a Diamante, but it is slightly bigger in terms of area I believe. I'm basing my assumptions on the slipstream theory. Most likely our car should be .265Cd which doesn't surprise me since when I coast on neutral, the car seems to coast farther than my 05 Avalon which is at .29Cd. Also I hear less wind noise at higher speeds, which is a big plus

LOL your old trailblazer probably woulda flipped  :auto:

were you talking about the pulstar plugs?

Yeah....when I did have those plugs in......
My TrailBlazer had a Flowmaster exhaust, TrueFlow Air Intake & a Custom Computer. I saw 123 a few times.....but I always would run out of room. Had a little left in her, but I really don't need to push a vehicle like that.

I got my car yesterday afternoon. I took it to 112 mph this morning going *up* a very long hill on the motorway today...was evry impressed at how easily it reached this speed...I could have gone more but the 4 lanes on the freeway got a little busy...

Eh nobody has posted here for a while......ya-ya I know...speed = death...blah blah blah :P Going along with a couple of really quick movers today on the way home with very little traffic.......looked down & I was doing 121 :D
Don't know what the RPM's were at because once I saw what I was doing.....I dropped the speed off quick! All I know is that it was still pulling.
I wasn't going down hill....& I didn't have a race car pushing me.....wind might have been at my back...????
I know....I'll go sit in time out for driving too fast...... :P

Thats the thing with this car.... at least if you have the auto. You don't really feel it shift so if you're on the hwy you sometimes you go a little faster than you're supposed to. I've been going 100+ and not known it lol

The other thing wrong is the M/T versions need a 6th gear..
I hate cruising around the highway doing 110km/h at 3000rpm.

speed in a car seems boring no matter how fast once youve done 186 on a motorcycle... (on a race track of course)

ofcourse theres no challenge because a WRX has a turbo, but if you versed a normal impraza im sure you would win.

do you think a 09 gts could beat a 07 impreza 2.5i? both with intake, exhaust, and header upgrades
