Hi, I own the Australian ZG Outlander LS (Base-model).

This is what the interior looks like - black plastic everywhere with black doors.

Basically I want to change some parts of the door trims and plastic around the gear knob to metallic silver like the upper luxury models.

Is it possible and if so, how would I go about doing it - no idea about sanding rough plastic.

It's possible, but to have it professionaly done will cost you an arm and a leg.

That is true, but I was going to do it myself. I've already had to repaint one airvent - air freshener ate away at the silver coat. The thing about these side panels that I want to pain silver is that they are bumpy black hardplastic.. not sure about going about to paint it.

maybe look for a dash/interior kit that has those parts replaced with what you want, probably more practicle. cuz even painting metal to look silver looks cheap.
