:00000732: I have a 1995 Carisma

having fitted a new radio DVD player using a standard connection kit - I have lost the following -

left rear light, dashboard backlights - audio warning that lights are on when ignition is off.

Any pointers to how to bypass this problem?

Double check your wires. Did you use electrical tape at each connection? If so, use those plastic crimp covers (the actual name escapes me right now) and clean up the connections. This will help avoid any potential arcing and interference problems. Then check your fuses. Also, reground the unit on an exposed piece of metal.

Fuses are all fine - I used a custom made connector for a Carisma - which meant I just had to plug the new unit in - I think that next I shall try to put the old one back and see if the problems go away!!

We call the connectors Crimp connectors.

Thnks for the help so far.

Rechecked everything again - still have the same problem - I am sure that on the old radio there was a connection to a symbol with a light stamped on the key to wires - I need to resolve this one - driving without dash lights is not good.
