hey everyone..i just bought two 12" alpine type R subwoofers 3000W and a kenwood 1000 wat amp wat u guys think

Don't take the **** to circuit city those mothers are incompatent, also... Don't do it yourself cause if you mess it up the radio even the stock one is like 1200 bucks. Take it to a reputable place that backs up their work. I made the mistake to trusting my baby to circuit city... never again. One other thing is did you say you bought 2 12's good luck fitting ANYTHING in that trunk other than the box your gunna need for those beasts haha.



Did anyone find a aftermarket mounting kit? doubt it...

Very nice, I've got 2 12" Sony Xplod 1200w subs with a 1200 watt sony amp. I get enough rattles in my trunk area as is. I'm sure you'll love it. Having subs makes the music experience so much better to listen to.

agree soo much...goes from :gitara: to :banana: ....took the amp power cord off my battery to see what i was listenin to without the subs...gotta say subs add so much more to music...just gotta have em!! :P w00t w00t gj with the subs dude now get em goin n tell us ur impressions n stuff

Yeah long story short i bought my car in august tried to get subs put in the week i bought my car and my radio was fried by time they were done. Not to mention it should have taken about an hour and it took 4. I know how to do these things myself i've done my s-10 and all my buddies cars but i didn't wanna risk fronting the bill if something got screwed up. so now i have a plugged hole in my firewall and a hole in my cellphone holder where the remote gain was supposed to be installed... pathetic. I mean the guy was cool about it but still if he wasn't i probly would have taken a cinderblock to his car. :haha:

hey did you change your speakers? what kind did you use??.
someone told me that our stock radio only goes to level 45 and if you change your stock speakers you wont have the power to really turn up the volume harder than the stock ones so they told me that also i had tu buy a new amp only for the speakers.
i wanted to install only one kicker 1000 sub and an amp, is that true?
could someone help me please?

your subs just might not reach what they could. but they will be loud trust me
i got a 2000 watt orion sub and this thing is soooooo louddddd
i cant see out of my mirrors when the bass hits
oh and make sure u get a capacitor

His amp is fine unless he plans to compete. 1000 watts will provide enough power to hit hard. Yes, the subs can go louder, but what for? The cost of buying a new amp probably won't be worth the reward unless he's in a car show. Just my 2 cents!

Edit: BTW, I want to hear your system, I bet it would be sick. Do you have the sound package or aftermarket speakers?

i have the sound package but im putting in aftermake speaker prob alpines...and does anyone no where the stock amp is if there is one

My GTS dosent come with the sound package,i took it to a friend whos specialised in sound system,he installed two nos 12" Sony Xplode Subwoofer and a 1500AMP.
Its louder enough than the sound package that mitsu has to offer.

Junk the capacitor it will hold your amp back go to advance auto and get a red top battery
