i was recently looking at stuff for my galant and came by a switchable 2wd to 4wd tranny...whats the significants to one of these and does anyone know were any are? talk to me... thanks

they are rare and its not switchable its full time awd. Same concept as the EVO

More closely related to the 3000GT VR4.

I think 1500 Galant VR4s were ever made...

It is switchable. There's a switch on the trans itself that allows you to switch from AWD to FWD.

Not sure WHY they made it switchable, a novelty I guess.

We have one on my boyfriends 92 Galant VR4. It's pretty cool. They were not available on any US spec GVR4's, only japanese models.


And there were 3000 GVR4's imported to the US. 2000 imported in 91, and 1000 imported in 92.
