The Canadian Lancers don't come equipped with Sirius even with the S&S package (we also don't have the NAVI package).
As far as I looked into it you don't need to install no universal unit or anything like that to get Sirius working. All you need is a receiver and a subscription (obviously).

Say what?

Providing you get the 650w Rockford Fosgate system, the GT comes with a 6month subscription. I test drove an '09 GT last month in Vancouver and it definitely had Sirius.
Mitusubishi Canada also lists the nav package as an "accessory" in the GTS model for 2009.

The 09 Lancer GTS without the SSL package comes with Sirius.

I had a separate unit in my car before. The built in unit in my Lancer works better from a quality/reception standpoint. The channel selection isn't bad.

What I didn't know is that XM is apparently better quality. Everything I've heard since getting the 2 year sirius subscription is that XM is higher quality :S

We were talking about the 2008 Lancers. They did not come with Sirius. At least not when I was buying mine. They perhaps changed the options for the new model.
