Hi, My 95 RVR 2.0l auto just lost reverse. Goes forward but sometimes loses drive.

Events before this were: several jump starts due to shot battery (now replaced).

I have read all the post re: TCU & hope this may be fault as possibly effected by above bat problem.

Does anyone think that this is a possibility before I go to the gbox? Most posts say Limp-Home mode has reverse.

There is also sometimes a vibrating/clicking sound from the unit at tob of trans where the wiring enters if reverse selected with motor running. this come & goes.

Any suggestions welcome please.

I've heard that the ECU can play havoc with gear box problems. I would firstly re-boot the ECU to see if the symptoms either go away or change. Following this get into a shop to have a diagnoistics run and identiy the fault codes. This should save alot of $$ guess work.
