Hi all I'm a newbie, Love my 88 2.4i wagon, stripped out to away sleeping in.
Question: The torsion bars have ascrew adjustment at the rear, do they lower and raise or set the hardness of the ride, if I 'unscrw' the nuts will it lower the front end? TIA

I removed the front bump stops, that gives plenty of travel and lets it sit about 30 mm lower without bottoming out.
I also replaces the sway bar rubbers with neoprene, and the front end feels heaps better for only $19 all up...

you're most likely still going to bottom out on big bumps, pot holes and train tracks.

I saw a while ago online some shortened replacement bump stops, they're prob your best bet.

cant remember where I saw them now though, was a year ago.

yeah I looked at them, they are about 30mm high and I thought to cut about 20mm off... but tacken off there is over50mm so I'll see how it goes, on a 250 klm to sydney and back it never bottomed once.

I would like new front shocks though, the old ones even look old... that $80 pr is on my list with a O2 sensor as well.
