Hi newbie back, I changed the timing belt because the tensioner pully bearing seized. mine 2.4i has only one belt, what model that is I don't know??
Anyway, question> does the tensioner pully have to be tightened in position or is it supposed to be free and have the spring take up constant pressur/ adjustment on the belt... I tightened it in place with the 'lower' bolt because I thought the bolt would unscrew if I didn't... if so then why the spring??

I found out the bolt does tighten, and actually the spring does nothing since the bolt prevents movement... just what I thought.
