Okay - y'all are being so helpful! I have ANOTHER question we can't figure out. When trying to order a part online, it says for 93-94 eclipse GS, 1.8L with VIN code "B". How do I know if my car (which fits all the other criteria) is a VIN code "B"? The VIN # offers no clue. And if ALL 93-94 Eclipse GS 1.8L are code "B", why would they even bring it up?

And why do they make this so difficult?

Trying to buy an idle air controller (Is that the correct term? My boyfriend's on the other computer so I can't get to him right now & doublecheck the correct name.). I went to a VIN website & found a place where they tell you what each letter in your VIN means & found that the B in the middle of my VIN corresponds to the end of a sequence that tells a manufacturer specifics re: engine type, body style, etc., so we're ASSUMING that mine is a "B". (Whew!! Long sentence - sorry!)

This'll drive ya to drinking! (Although not at the same time! LOL!)

All you have to do is give the dealer your full VIN Number the year and make of your car and you will be fine. If they say they need more then simple info then you need to find a new dealership.

We're ordering this one online & putting it in ourselves, and it was the online place that was designating VIN code "B". Thanks!
