Ok so i posted the other day about my 2001 Mitsubishi carisma gdi equippe rev-ing up to much. What we did was took the throttle body of and adjusted the sensor and it has definly worked. The car is sounding good but there is another problem.

The revs are down to where they need to be but the engine light keeps flashing and there is no power on the accelerator. We believe it to be a faulty sensor and were wondering if the older models sensors were the same as the one on mine.

I will attach a picture of the sensor in question.

hi . cant fault you for having a crack at it, as far as i know there are no adjustable parts on the throttle body for the lay mech to tackle. when the body is returned to the specialist for repair/refurbish. they must have a machine /computer that sets everthing up to suit. if it was that easy everbody would be doing it. i dont know what you payed for the car or its present value/ condition . you might have to bite the bullet and spend some hard earned cash, or move it on . if the throttle body and all the rest of the gubbins are not working as they should you will have high co2 emmisions and the sensor in the exaust will not be happy ...again engine managment light and error codes.. and it may have trouble going through the m o t test on emmisions..

good luck and happy motoring....

looking at your picture 1/2 inch down & 2 inches to the right there is a metal pipe sticking up. it looks like this should have a rubber pipe attached ti it. did you remove it for the photo? any breather vac pipes make a real difference, so you need to check whether they are all fitted correctly.

happy motoring!!!!
