Hi,

Anyone knows what is this hose near the TPS (after the air intake) to a canister in a 4g63 engine? What is the purpose of this?

Please help.

Harry

Where is the canister located? It could either be the vacuum canister for the brake booster if your master cylinder is mounted to it. Or if it's below that it could be your evaporative emissions canister. Both get vacuum from the engine.

It is located at the lower left inside the hood. it is hold by a clamp attached to the body of the vehicle. It has a rubber like cap in where the hose is attached.

Anything related to fuel economy or on the power of the engine?

Anything with the canister is evap emissions, does not affect engine performance unless it leaks.
