So, the car was being driven normally and had an appointment to get the heater core replaced when suddenly the core cracked and steam poured from under the dash and the car shut down. All of the warning lights on the dash lit up. Now, when I turn the key to the on position, the check engine light comes on, and then turns off shortly after. Is this normal, or should the light stay on? I took the ecu out and disassembled it and looked at the board. Nothing looked burnt or shorted. So, that leads me to the next questions. What other things are under the dash and could have been effected by the steam to cause the car to have no spark and keep the fuel pump from coming on? Any help would be great as I am at a loss as to what is wrong. I was hoping to sell my other car soon, but I can't do that until I fix the Galant. Thanks in advance! -Mike :)
