Whassup fellow mitsubators...
I'm planning on putting together a custom turbo kit for my 04 ralliart and was just looking for some advice on what brands I should be looking for, for the parts. Ralliart performance parts aren't easily accessible here in Canada and I understand that there is a kit available in the States, but I'd rather put together my own system and maybe save some dollars as well as achieve more power than the measly 80hp that the $4300US turbo kit would give me. I'm looking for the best of the best parts...any advice would be greatly appreciated. 80hp from a turbo kit is dang weak...I might as well go NA. Please and thank you!

Dude, as a must the first thing to change is the ECU!!! For descent powerups...

No Questions asked at all! For gods sake!

Go Good Quality. Motec and Heltech... Motec have their latest M800 available for the EVO 8 as a direct Plugin. This satisfied rally regulations thatstate you must be able to plug in a std computer straight away and the car still run... so they created a direct Plug N play ECU, and there are aint none better int he world at all.

Motech and Heltech have to be the two best.....

Guarantee that that should give you another 30-40% power! minimum.... also I think int he states your EVO's are slightly underpowered to the Jap spec... Go get the Motec. I have an E1 and an E8 and am in the process of making a plug'n'play adaptor for the E1...

Next thing to do after that is better head gasket....
Then electronic boost controller, Rising Rate Fuel Pressure Regulator, with the fat gasket you should be able to run much higher boost safely... the internals are second to none...

Ciao
hope it helps... don;t loearn the hard way either.... seen lots on the net, made heaps of enquiries and none seem to know shite.... considering the EVO's have only just been made avail in northern america. I love my E1 the best actually have hadit 6 years.... take you time and you wont make mistakes... or less of them... and be spendthrift too.. they'll take it all if you let em

sup REvo,

thanks so much for the reply, but I'm here in Canada and the Evos aren't street legal here yet :crying: . That's why I got stuck with the next best thing here in Canada - the 2004 Ralliart Lancer. So I'm not sure if I even have access to Heltech and Motech (but I'll look into it), or even if that ECU is compatible with my RA lancer...any advice on the best mods for a RA Lancer? Thx

Hey there...I'm in Canada as well and have done a TON of research this past week. My brother and I recently got into purchasing wrecked WRX's/Lancer's and are planning to do some Rally racing in the future ourselves. Seeing as we need a solid solid source for parts, here's the best sources in Canada I've found so far:

http://www.rocketrally.com
http://www.rallysport.ca
http://www.pdm-racing.com

Without question, Rocket Rally is going to be your best prep shop in Canada - particularly for Subarus(but, they do Lancer's as well). It is
run by 2 time Canadian and 2004 Canadian, USA and north American Champ
Pat Richard. He has access to DMS suspension and all the bits you'd
need, and if you want a fully-prepped Rally car, they start at $8,000 :)

Granted the above sources are geared towards Rally racing, but, the racing guru's are without a doubt, the best source of information and products. If you find any others, let me know.
