Hi,

As I am reading with the workshop manuals i got for 4g63 engines, I noticed that there is what they called the Purge Control solenoid valve.

1. Can anybody here explain the purpose of this?
2. I noticed in my car that the canister is directly connected to the throttle body but in the manual it is connected to a solenoid then from solenoid to throttle. What is the effect of bypassing the valve? Is there any model of engine that directly connect the canister to the throttle like mine or somebody just forgot to connect them (im not the first owner of the vehicle so im not sure).

My engine is 4G63 93 model for RVR

Please advise.

Thanks in advance
