I just got a 94"Plymouth Colt 2dr and it had no radio in it. Ive installed a Sony X-Plode Model:CDXGT71W and hooked it straight to the wires instead of using a wire harness because I couldn't find one anywhere for my car. I know that the power wire is hooked up right and the ignition swithch along with my ground. When i turn on my cd player the face plate wouldn't light up at all but after 30 sec. of no sound and me thinking something is wrong it beeped 3 times like the car shut off and stero turned off so i know it got power but it shouldve stayed on since i had my car on. I checked my wires and everything seems very well insulated and attached so there is good connections. What or how can I fix this problem A.S.A.P. thnx.

its hard to say, if you have all the wires hooked up right (which i'm assuming you don't since we have the problem) it should do that at all.

the 8 speaker wires are easy to ID, white/whiteblack green/greenblack or what ever colors you have, a solid wire followed by a same color wire with a black line through it

after that you have you 12V source, usually red, and the memory wire (mines yellow) and the ground black. other than hooking those up right you may have a problem with the stock wires in your dash.

Its the 12v constant and your ground cable.
