My 1993 Eclipse GS 1.8L, stick, is stalling constantly. I'll be driving 40mph and stalls. Sitting at light and stalls. Seems like when I start to give it gas it stalls out. Kinda like no fuel is being injected. I've have a new distributor, new spark plugs, new battery, new fuel filter, new fuel relay... Now when it stalls it won't even start after. Seems like the RPMs kinda flux a lil between 0 and 500 and then konks out. Trying to give it gas while its doing this doesn't help. After messing with the fuel relay wires I heard the relay kicking on and off. So thought something was loose or short. Tighten that and ajusted the idle up a bit, and well that fix the starting problem, but still stalls constantly. I'm mean every few miles. Starts back up fine but then stalls a lil later again.. Can someone please help.. I'm pulling my hair out??

Alright folks.. Heres the update on my stalling issue.. I contacted the previous owner and he already replaced the battery, fuel filter, spark plugs and wires, the distributor, and the Computer. I just got new terminals put on. As for the fuel relay he said that's one thing he never replaced. So a 15 year old relay is still in that car. According to the mech. as the relay gets old and heats up it become temper mental.. It will start and stop working as it pleases. Which explains the engine stalling due to no fuel being injected, because the relay stopped and wasn't allowing the pump to pump the fuel. As I said b4 when I stall the other night, it fiddled with the relay and as I wiggled the wire connection to the battery the relay would kick on and off. So, I just picked up the relay and fuses to the relay at copher's. I'm going to be putting them on when I can tonight.. Superbowl comes 1st. I'll let you know in a couple of days if that solved the problem so we all can help the next poor sap like me with this issue b4 spending all that money on everything else.. Thanx again for all the help and advise.. If you're not a member and are reading this....... JOIN... This site will help you save more time and money that you wouldn't beleive.
Oh, and if I end up having to replace the fuel pump, i'm going with the OEM.. Not turbo. I had a 92 turbo.. Fun car but way to much of a pain. I like having my slow lil 1.8. Besides keeps me out of trouble.. To many tickets already..
