kriccio...
It took me a bit of complaining & I got the update. I had to pay for it & Mitsu sent me a check...rather quickly to cover everything.
Keep on complaining....maybe it will work. Here's hoping they will send you a check.
I'm with you on the Garmin. I only got the Navi so I can give the Garmin to the wife or someone else in the family...but not anymore.
Hell even Garmin has the new North America nt2009 version out now! What's Mitsu up to now.....2006....maybe?! P-A-T-H-E-T-I-C!

Yeah, I'm disappointed in the factory nav myself, inaccurate routes, slow rerouting, streets not in database. My girlfriends Garmin Nuvi 200 is way better.

I agree that the Garmin's are way better & faster. I just got the North America 2009 update for my Garmin......What's Mitsu on.....2006?!
The update was only $75 with tax.....Mitsu's was $115 plus tax.
I love the touch screen & all of the really cool functions that it has....but if I need to take a long trip....I'll be using my Garmin, sad.

is there any way to know what latest upgrade your navi unit has on it.

I got mine installed by the dealership, and I think its outdated too, among other things....

I dont know if the updates can be used in another car or not, but I have mine including the dongle it comes with. The is an OEM part in packaging and including instructions.

Hello I am looking to buy an 09 GTS or ES-sport with the navigation. I was wondering for those who recently bought theirs with the navigation, if they have out-dated maps like those who bought way back in December???

Any feedback on that?

Just wondering so I can be well informed at the dealership.

The latest map version is STILL old. Like I had stated in my earlier reply.....they recently gave me the most updated map software that Mitsu has available & it is STILL from 2006!

I love having all of the cool features that come with the Navi unit.....but the actual navigation is something that I rarely use. Especially when I have my Garmin with the 2009 update.

Thank you for that information. The news is discouraging but as you mentioned, the other features that come with the navigation still make it a great option. I do have a Magellan 4040 that has helped me this past year so I have something to fall back on. At least I have this information to use (hopefully) in the negiotation of my new lancer. I am hoping to have one soon. I am still reading everything I can on the lancer.

Thanks again.
