Once every so often when I turn off the car the key will be stuck in the ignition and cannot be taken out. To remove it I have to start the car again and wait for a while before trying to remove the key. Is there something wrong with the car?

Our Camry actually does this when you turn the wheel but I tried this on the Outlander yet it doesn't seem to work. Will call the dealer and see what they have to say...

Same problem here! I was really scared, but I forced it and it worked. Yet, it happened again! If you sort it out, let me know

Went to the dealer, fixed up several issues, but nothing was mentioned about the key getting stuck. It doesn't seem to get stuck now but if it does happen again, I know quickly trying to remove the key from the "on" position usually works.

Try this next time. switch your shifter all the way to tricktronic with the brake peddle pressed down so you can shift. move it all the way back to park. and try to remove the key again. My old minivan had that issue. It was a shifter issue. The car was never fully in park. never hit the sensor even though it was in park.
