What do you think of this setup?
I'm interested in purchasing an audio set up for my 02 Lancer, and was wondering how it'd sound. I don't want it to be all rattly sounding. I'm looking at getting either Alpine or Infinity inside 6-1/2's all around, and either one or two Alpine Type-R 12" Subs.. but I was told two might be TOO much for such a small car. What do you guys think? Is one efficient enough, or should i get two. The trunk space would be nice and all, and i'd be looking at a cheaper 500w amp.

If you've got pics of your set up let's see it. :auto: :hyper:

Boo! All those views, no replies? Surely some of you guys listen to music of some sort. Alpine Type R subs are one the most popular, just wondering if one 12" would hit hard enough, or if i should consider two in a lancer. :bwekk:

depends on what you want... if you want really loud, then get 2 with a ported box. then you need atleast a 1000 watt amp with them running at 500 rms a piece. type r's are pretty sick though...

cool deal. Thanks for the input. Kinda funny coincidence that you replied to the topic. I just bought some stuff last night. I was just kinda curious know if two powerful 12" were too much for a lancer. You know how some cars sound kinda rattly. But there ain't no going back now! I bought two Rockford Punch 3's, nice 5/8" MDF sealed/porter box. Now I just gotta wait for my alpine PDX1000 amp, capacitor, & deck. :D

sounds like a good set up. if it rattles too much just get some dynomat, or something of the sort. its not real cheap, but will take the rattles away. hope it sounds good for ya.

i've got two 12" kenwoods, for my 03 lancer, in a ported box running off a 1000 watt kenwood amp, and nothing sounds rattly. two 12s are definitely not too much for a lancer.

if that so, you may consider to build a 10" sub transmission line bass, the bass result is almost equally to 2 10" sub. strong and deep enough Hz, stable bass, low distortion. 500w amp is more than enough to drive the 10 sub inside the transmission line bass

thanks for posting everybody.
Once I get a lil extra spending money, I'll be getting some dynmat for sure. That little lancer trunk space just rattles away.
