the reason im asking is i heard that all are drums on de models, however on my pops car it seems that they are disks.

we had about 14 in of snow, a bit cold to investigate but through the holes on wheels it seems that the car has disks and calipers visible.

any ideas or inputs.

iduno, ive heard some weird $hit with these lancers.. A month ago a guy bought ES model with drums, which is retarded as disks are standard on DE models.. Now you're saying u got DE with disks.. I think someone fell asleep at the mitsubishi plant. :)

If you compare the Canadian and US 2008 Lancer specs (i.e. on the respective websites) the US lower end models come with rear drum breaks and the Canadian all come standard with all around disk breaks.
Double check the online specs. Phone the dealers to inquire what one should have on a specific model. If you don't have what you should then go and complain.
Though in your case of course if you got discs instead of drums then you're off to a good start.
Perhaps they changed something in production. It's possible.

oh, i am not complaining, very happy with disks, however when the car was purchased i assumed that it had drums, especially hearing from other people.

In the U.S. the rear break are drums standard which is why i was complaining about this on another thread, I tried to convert them, but it takes a lot of time and even more money, just not worth it. My car is a 2008 Lancer DE and yeah it's just drums. :57:
