Hi dont know if you've fixed this fault but you have a problem with your 4wd the car sounds like its in 2 wd but the car isnt coming out of 4wd fully the main fault i have seen on the L200's is the 4wd solenoids fitted on the inner wing (drivers side) when these go down they dont supply enough vacuum to pull out of 4wd!! this may not be the cause but its a start.

Hi,

could be vacuum or dirty actuator at the diff. The unit defaults to have the actuator engaged when the engine is off. Then when vacuum builds up, it pulls out. Also, could be the vacuum solenoid switches as stated by wayne....

I had a similar issue after doing namibia desert, too much sand. There can be a buildup of rubbish under the rubber boot, or maybe the boot is toast.

I was surprised to see all the crud that was stuck underneath the boot, but after a clean, it was ok.

good luck!

s ;)
