Take a look at: http://www.mitsubishi-forums.com/t28215-pi...of-gts-mods.htmand http://www.mitsubishi-forums.com/t29590-af...9-08-lancer.htmin our General Discussion forum to get some ideas. IMO lowering the vehicle would look sweet, especially on this car. Get leather seats. Get the sunroof package. I think sunroofs are great cause you can flare people out the roof instead of the window hehe. But seriously I think they make the car look pretty good. For sure get the NAVI, that'll add a nice LCD display to your interior. Look at some of the bodykits that are out there. There's some nice stuff you might want to consider. Get your calipers painted. Look into ground effects (just make sure they can be switch controlled). And of course since I drive the white Lancer I will say get the white one! I love my white :) Now the whole poser thing... people can call you a poser for anything you do to your ride, I say screw them. It really depends what you want out of your car and how much money you have. I want mine to look nice and be faster than average. But that will cost me and will take a really long time to accomplish. What I'm saying is put money into what you want to get out of your ride. You want it to look super nice, spend money on that. Then you have a show car, not a race car - nothing wrong with that.

Well thx for the input. Im really new to this whole thing so that really gave me a better idea on what to do. I used to play need for speed underground and just soup my car up real nice and that got me into loving cars but that was years ago. Now i actually have money. I used to own a 2004 Nissan Sentra but that was junk and I got into a little accident because people like to cut me off for no reason... Oh well now Im focusing on building up my credit so i can buy my car through my name instead of my parents and ive saved a lot to invest into this project :). i cant wait though...
How did you guys get ur car?? Build ur own credit or had ur parents help u??? Im only 19 years old but i have a steady job thats pay quite a bit and im looking at some auto insurance rates as well.. So far all state is about 1800 for 6 months... I need something a lot cheaper than that :/... Maybe progressive? I dunno but I think i might wait until to the 2009 lancer gts comes out because by then i might be able to have good credit to pay for it myself. Also, the 2009 gts has that extra horse power and the 2.4 liter engine but im still confused on when it comes out... U guys think i should wait?? By then ill probably have 6gs saved up so booyah im ready to start modding my ride.
And you guys are right... If they call me a poser, screw em! If i got a sexy ride then let them hate.
I went to the dealership today to check out the lancer in person and wow its gorgeous. I sat in it and fell in love quickly. The look is just incredible and the interior imho is comfortable and stylish. The dealer told me leather seats would cost $ 1,000. My girlfriend told me to not get it cuz then later the seats will start ripping and it will start to look real crappy like the cabs here in ny with leather seats :/. I dunno but the pics ive seen of the leather seats look nice. Maybe a little loose but nice.
I am planning on getting the sun and sound package and navi FOR SURE!!! I want tints and i think im going to get a new hood to make it look more like an EVO.
Btw my lancers going to be stick shift because automatic is just plain BORING!! But with the color i think im deciding between BLUE, WHITE or GRAY... Mind you, Im in nyc... It rains, snows, bird shits.... ALOT here so the white might be hard to clean all the time. But the white does look nice... I caught my eye on the electric blue quite a bit though and the gray just seems a bit more suitable for all types of conditions. So im still debating. I got a lot of time until i decide so help me out guys! thx
Pat

If you can wait for the 09 Lancer than wait I would wait. It's only a few months away. The leather seats should be fine, unless you actually start using the car as a cab. But be aware that it's easy to damage leather (i.e. scratch or cut it). You mess it up it's gonna show. Good choice on the stick, that's what I got and love it. I got mine on a loan through the dealership at BMO, but I had to have my dad cosign for it since I couldn't get approved for the entire amount. It takes a while to build up a good credit, so I doubt that you're gonna be able to do it on your own. I mean I don't exactly know your situation, but I'm 23, had credit cards for years, never missed payments, and still didn't get approved. Try getting the car in your name and see if your parents can cosign on the loan, that way you're building your credit but if anything was to happen you're cosigners are responsible for making the payments. Look at this thread about insurance and discuss it there: http://www.mitsubishi-forums.com/t31433-ho...r-insurance.htmBTW I have the white, I think it's great. If I was to do it all over again my first choice would be white. White is easy to work with, you can pretty much pair up any color scheme (say for body mods) with the color. And it's nice and shiny when you wash it. I've had sooo many people come up to me and tell my that my car stands out and looks nice and clean.

Thx for the co-signing tip. I never knew what it meant until now. I remember in the movie "The Departed" matt damon is going to buy/rent an apartment in boston and the agent says its too expensive for a state detective. Matt damon looks at him like hes an ***** and says "i have a co-signer" So now i get it... So you really opened my eyes to how long good credit will take to move up even with paying everything on time and being a good manager of your money.. CO-signing with "mommy" is the way to go! :) My colors for the car now have slimmed down to Blue or White... Can't really decide but I think blue would look tight with a carbon fiber hood with black rims and tinted windows like this pic --> http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_image...558_18_full.jpgBut since white seems like it has potential, could you guys show me some tricked out white pics??? I'd love to see them. Try to convince me into getting a white cuz im still debating. Show me some pics of your cars! Id love to see them White has me a little ehhh i duno but prove me wrong :) About the insurance companies, I'll try state farm, erie, or hmm i dunno any other suggestions?? Im still young and id like to pay around 100-200 instead of the insane 300-400 rate they have in allstate. By the way, I'm going to the bank tomorrow to open my OWN personal checkings and savings account and i'm going to apply for a credit card so I can start a credit score finally. I've been in a joint one with my parents for a while now but its not mine. I think its time to grow up and start doing *** responsibly. I was even thinking about paying life insurance every month + the car payments + the car insurance to help boost my credit fast.. What do you guys think??? So from what I understand co-signing with my parents still gives me the power to build up my own credit regularly just as if i didnt co-sign right?? I want equal opportunities! What i mean is will co-signing for things take longer for me to build up my credit rather than lets say if i didnt have a co-signer? ehh.. Basically does having my parents co sign slow down my future credit score than if i were to do it alone? Yes i asked the same question 3 times just so you guys could understand what im saying.. i dont know much about banks and lending money and co-signing and credit scores or w/e so im learning as i go. I find it so interesting though :) My credit can be built up fast if I pay for things like the car, life insurance, car insurance, etc right??? Those arent little monthly payments like buying a stupid hat at lids every month. this might add up to $600-$1000 every month. I hope spending that much money and at the same time saving money will boost my credit score quick right?? Sorry if i sound n00bish. I just need to know :) So ANYWAYS sorry if im boring you guys now... Back to the real topic white or blue? Pat

what suggestions do you have for suspension and hids??? I dont know too much about all that. What are the best "hids" out??
I've also decided to change my mind on the color. Its either between blue or white. Blue looks mad hot, but with white i cant afford to always wash it. I dnt live in cali where i can just take a hose and wash my car by hand. I gotta pay 15 dollars for a car wash over here in nyc.
i dunno well see what happens in about a month.

No more joint accounts with my parents :)! thank jesus!! BTW for you guys that dont know yet i dont have a 08 gts yet. Im still saving up for it but when i do get it im getting tints, hids, black rims, and a new hood. Then maybe after that ill plan on improving performance. How high can HP go with a 08 lancer??
