New to this forum so please bear with me if i am in the wrong topic...

I have recently replaced the dash lights on my 01 Lancer evo VII as they were blown. Now they are on whenever the car ignition is - even if the lights aren't on.

Can someone please shed some light on whether this is a standard feature or how i can fix?

Cheers

Now, i don't know if the New Zealand 01 Lancer is similar to the US 02-06 Lancer, but the dash light dimmer switch has a position that turns the dash lights on.

When you slide the dimmer switch all the way up (or down) it clicks into place turning the dash lights on.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for your advice. Unfortunately, there is no dash light dimmer in the Japanese Lancer. There is a dimmer switch but that is for lifting or dropping the headlights.
